About the Property
The house, designed by Gren Weis of Gren Weis Architects and Associates of Oakville, was built in 2001. Its 5404 sf of finished living space (6526 sf total) on two and a half levels was designed so that a couple could live on one floor, while providing a separate area for family and guests on the lower, walk-out level and accommodating two offices/workspaces on the upper level. In early spring and late fall, when it’s too cool to sit outside, the sunroom provides a cozy afternoon space to read, enjoy a coffee or adult beverage and feel as if you are in the garden. While heaps of love, thought and attention to detail went into the planning of the house, it is the view that is one-of-a-kind, breath taking and often referred to as “the most beautiful in the area.”
Nestled onto the side of a hill the view to the north is across the valley to the hills in the distance and Georgian Bay on the horizon. For a few days in early spring, the hills have a delicate purple hue. Summer brings the lushness of 50 shades of green. Autumn shows off with a paintbox of vibrant colours. And when it snows, it’s a pristine, winter wonderland.
The location is peaceful and secluded, with the ‘big heart’ village of Creemore just 10 minutes away. The neighbours are a mix of weekenders and full-time residents. Being on a dirt road means that the influx of weekend motorcyclists aren’t interested in tearing up and down the hill.
Garden add-ons include an old-style Quebec clay bake oven (ideal for imaginative pizza parties, baking bread or simmering a stew), a storage cabin (more appropriately called ‘the man cave’) and several nesting boxes (where blue birds move in each spring).
A five-minute walk to a clearing in the woods brings you to a wood-burning, stone BBQ and picnic table.
The 31 acres of land feature 40 years old woods including red and white pine and rows of spruce at the foot of the lawn. Several walking trails connect to the Noisey River Conservation area on the south side with direct access to the Bruce Trail.
The water supply comes from a drilled well to the west of the house. In 21 years, there has never been a water shortage. A small stream runs downhill, year-round.
Situated just 23 minutes from Osler Private Ski Club and 14 minutes from Devil's Glen Ski Club and Mad River Golf Club, the estate backs to Noisy River Provincial Park, providing direct access to miles of trails. This is more than a house; it's an escape to a world of natural wonder, artistic design, and tranquility. Don't miss your opportunity to experience this exceptional country estate that feels like a slice of Tuscany, right here in Ontario.
